Hey everypony. Been a minute since my last journal, so here's a new one to kick off my being 21 now. My birthday was yesterday, and I celebrated by hitting up the local Irish pub with a friend of mine. Had some Angry Orchard hard cider, and found out just how terrible a lightweight I am... A pint and a half in, with a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey and a Strawberry Kamikaze on the side, and I knew I wasn't driving. Walked to get food, still was just outside my comfort zone for driving, so we got a driver for the night. Had fun, got home safe, overall an ideal night of birthday drinking... even if I can't hold my liquor for shit, hahaha
So remember kiddies, drink responsibly, and have a backup plan if you can't drive. You don't have to get absolutely hammered to have a good time, and you don't want to ruin the whole night with a crash or a DUI.
So as far as other stuff's concerned, I'm going to BABSCon in a week, and that'll be my -big- birthday celebration. Gonna be there the whole three days, and I plan on having just the biggest blast. I went to SacBrony Expo last year, and I'm super excited to be attending Central California's first large-scale brony convention for all three days.
Looking for a new line of work again. I didn't lose the job at BJ's, but the job is losing me. Up until about three weeks ago when I had to cover for another dishwasher that got hurt, I was getting REALLY bad hours. I don't know how much longer these good hours will last, and just the novelty of it being my first job is wearing off on me, and I want to get into something that's on track with my desired career. I applied at the local Toyota dealer, and I follow up again on Tuesday. I hope I get the job there, and that it's secure (unlike my time at the Hyundai dealer was), because once I'm confident that I'm in a secure place, I'm done with the restaurant. I love my coworkers, it's the work itself that I don't like, and I want something I'm passionate about. I'll start out changing oil and doing tire rotations if it means a chance to step up.
I'm going to seriously need something secure too, because my parents are getting divorced. I'm going with my mom, and she'll need a little help paying for where we're moving, so I can't get hit with two days of work a week anymore. I'm confident we'll be alright, but I want to be even more confident by getting myself to a better place as far as work goes.
That's all for now. Might do some art again, one of these days. I've been meaning to draw stuff, just keep getting sidetracked or hit with more important responsibilities. Keep an eye out, though
